Santa Barbara is on the Top! First Place in Government Efficiency

Congratulations Local Government Unit of Santa Barbara! 1st Place in the Government Efficiency (1st-2nd class municipalities) besting other 978 municipalities in the whole country. The award was given during the 3rd Regional Competitiveness Summit Cities and Municipalities Competitive Index at Philippine International Convention Center, CCP Complex on July 16, 2015, given by National Competitiveness Council. Thank you to all the LGU Santa Barbara officials and employees and Santa Barbaranhons worldwide for your support and help that made as achieved this prestigious award...Happy and Proud Santa Barbaranhon! Congratulations to all of us!

The Proclamation of the 117th Philippine Independence Day

All eyes in the Province of Iloilo especially in the historic  town of Santa Barbara for the Proclamation of  the 117th Philippine Independence Day. The President of the Philippines His Excellency Benigno Simeon C. Aquino, III led the flag raising at the town plaza. Santa Barbara was chosen as the site of this year’s celebration because it was where the Philippine flag was first raised outside of Luzon on Nov. 17, 1898. This is also  the first time  that the Philippine Independence  is celebrated in the Visayas.

Santa Barabara is Ready for 2015 Philippine Independence Day!

Santa Barbara is now in full blast preparation for the 117th Celebration of the Philippine National Independence Day with the Philippine President His Excellency Benigno Simeon C. Aquino, III to lead the celebration. The Santa Barbara Catholic Church and Convent were given Php 50 million budget for the renovation/rehabilitation in preparation for this event. Santa Barbaranhons and Balikabayan worldwide donated new pews for the church. Senior Citizen "Rigodoners" headed by OSCA Mr. Rudy Patopaten spearheaded the scouting for donors for the new church bell.

The Hon. Mayor Dennis S. Superficial, M.D said that Santa Barbaranhons are united, working hand and hand for the success of the celebration and he was quoted saying "we are proud, honored and privileged that our town was chosen for the Philippine National Independence Day, first flag raising outside Luzon".

The town plaza and the flag pole area were also given Php 12 million budget for the restoration works. The completion of the rehabilitation of the church, convent, bandstand, plaza ground will serve as the symbolic attraction and will highlight the town's historical importance. The roads around the plaza were asphalted and improved, the municipal complex was landscaped with plants and greeneries.  Cleanliness and beautification campaign are intensified.

Santa Barbara "Full Moon Dance Party" Year 2

The Local Government Unit of Santa Barbara hold once again the “Full Moon Dance Party” a summer camp from sundown to sunrise at the Santa Barbara Eco-Adventure Park, Barangays General Martin T. Delgado/Duyanduyan, Santa Barbara, Iloilo. During the opening program,50 young, handsome and lovely Santa Barbaranhons modeled the outfits designed and created by Rosalinda Robles and Alfie Gonzaga.
